75Cr1 Spring Steel

75Cr1 spring steel stockholders and suppliers. 75Cr1 is a high carbon, chromium spring steel available in sheet and plate with delivery to the whole of the UK. With an average content of 0.75% carbon plus the addition of chromium this grade provides high quality spring steel properties. It is commonly supplied as sheet or plate in the hardened and tempered condition.

75Cr1 is held on stock and can be delivered throughout the UK. All orders are supplied in accordance with our ISO 9001 accreditation.

Applications

Used widely for a variety of applications including cutting saws, clutches, agricultural tools, knives, doctor blades, saw blades, shims, washers.

Carbon 0.74-0.801 Phosphorous 0.025% max
Manganese 0.65-0.80% Sulphur 0.025% max
Silicon 0.25-0.45% Chromium 0.30-0.45%

As standard 75Cr1 is supplied in the hardened and tempered condition. If further heat treatment is required the material should be fully annealed.  For hardening heat slowly and carefully to 840-860°C, quench in oil and temper accordingly. When hardening 75Cr1heat treatment temperatures, including rate of heating, soaking and cooling times etc. will vary due to factors such as the shape and size of each component. Other considerations during the heat treatment process include the type of furnace, quenching medium and work piece transfer facilities. Please consult your heat treatment provider for full guidance on heat treatment of spring steels.
